The fragrance-wellness brand is joining Target's Beauty Studio on Sept. 10.
August 30, 2026
By: Lianna Albrizio
When you peer over the horizon, the lake meets the sky — creating a breathtaking sight.
Lake & Skye was an apropos name for Courtney Somer, a former assistant in the accessories department at Vogue. It is equal parts striking visual and the middle names of her two children.
The brand began as a passion project at Somer’s kitchen table in 2015 tinkering with essential oils and aromatherapy to “Make the world feel better.” It has since blossomed into a growing fragrance brand rooted in wellness, sophistication and numerology.
Aside from enjoying a six-year retail partnership with Ulta, Lake & Skye was acquired by Tru Fragrance & Beauty last year.
On Sept. 10, the brand will arrive at Target’s Beauty Studio, a thoughtfully curated selection of emerging brands, landing a spot on its Prestige Fragrance Wall, which will shelve its signature 11 11 line.
The brand is now available in more than 4,000 retail doors across North America.
This past month, Lake & Skye released its newest franchise addition, 222, encouraging wearers to pour into themselves. It features top notes of bergamot zest and frothed milk, middle notes of cashew and almond blossom, and base notes of airy musk and vanilla cream. The entire scent is explicitly blended in a 100% organic sugarcane alcohol base — all housed in the brand’s first frosted bottle.
Happi sat down with Somer to discuss the origins of her fragrance brand which is tickling the fancies of would-be believers in olfactory healing.
